This summer you can catch the jangling lo-fi sounds of Canadian pop outfit Alvvays. Female vocalist Molly Rankin and keyboardist Kerri MacLellan are joined by guitarist Alec O’Hanley, bassist Brian Murphy and drummer Phil MacIsaac in this indie dream pop group who’s sound resides somewhere between The Cranberries and Camera Obscura. Since their debut peeked at number 1 in the US college chart (2014) Alvvays have gone from strength to strength in their live shows and music videos. With influences ranging from Teenage Fanclub to The Smiths and Celine Dion to Oasis, their diverse sound is set to raise the bar this summer, just ahead of their second studio album.
