The upbeat and down-to-earth Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist Courtney Barnett rocked Coachella on Saturday. If you’re into witty, honest ramblings and Fender Telecasters – this performer is for you.
Courtney stands out for her deadpan singing style and initially attracted attention with the release of her debut EP, I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris. By 2013, international interest peeked from the UK and North American music press when Courtney released ‘The Double EP: A Sea Split Peas’. At the CMJ Music Marathon, her well-received performances saw her noted as a standout performer by Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Barnett’s debut album, ‘Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit’, was released in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim and she has since been nominated for Best New Artist at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and for International Female Solo Artist at the 2016 Brit Awards.
