Mister Martyn (Reggae & Eclectic DJ)
Martyn has been a DJ for 5 years and he’s only 19 now! He joined Kane FM as a producer back in 2011 and has since gone on to DJ and host his own weekly show ‘Bass Invaders’ (Thursday 5-7pm) whilst also producing one of the most popular reggae shows on Kane FM, Davinci Sound’s ‘1-1-1 Sessions’ (Saturday 11-1pm).
Howard Sway (Alternative Indie & Dance DJ)
Hailing from Margate , Howard is a vinyl collector who has made his name DJing over the past 10 years spinning an eclectic mix for events all over the country including Moshi Moshi Records. He also composes his own unique dance music and has a passion for foreign & weird rare tracks.
This is one riot grrl unafraid to stand up to music industry prejudice. Cassie is the woman behind the all-female punk festival ‘Loud Women’ happening in London next month. She’s coming in to Kane FM to talk about the bands on the line up and introduce us to some new music.
Brian IH (Canadian House & Underground DJ)
Brian IH is a talented Canadian DJ with an extensive collectionof vinyl treasures alongside his broad knowledge of underground music. He joined Kane FM this year, taking over the ‘Thursday Breakaway’ show (Thursday 3-5) and specialises in spinning house and lo-fi tunes.
Meet the host:
Paula is one of Kane FM’s top interviewers and has questioned The Jungle Brothers, The Selector, Maximo Park and Sleaford Mods among many others. She began on Kane FM as a producer for ‘The Boom and Bass Show’ (Sunday 3-5pm) and ‘Tippa Irie’s Pure Diddim Show’ (Thursday 7-9pm) and has recently began hosting her own show ‘Way Out Radio’ (Thursday 11-1pm). Visit www.wayoutradio.com for Paula’s previous shows, interviews and reviews.

9am – 11am Special guest DJ Brian IH will be spinning the best in underground punk, ska and reggae music whilst Cassie Fox organiser of the all-female punk festival ‘Loud Women’ will be joining us in the studio for an exclusive interview.

Stream the show LIVE on www.kanefm.com
We linked up with the Boom and Bass crew of Kane FM and head down to Undercover Festival at Bisley for a weekend of punk rock! Backstage we bumped into Nick Cash, lead singer and main man from the legendary punk band 999, formed in 1977.
He was a pleasure to meet and gave us a fantastic interview. So he rightly deserves his place here on the Way Out Radio Wall of Fame.
Alternative Club Night at The Bowery District, Reading
Last weekend we went down to The Bowery District, a club below Sub 89 in Reading, for the first time, to check out their alternative rock and metal night. We were tipped off about the event by the bassist from Rage DC, after meeting him at Rebellion Festival. Firstly I was pleased that the online event had a prize draw for a bottle of Jägermeister which was free to enter (You had to share the event on Facebook) and the odds for winning were pretty high if you were going in a group. Also they do entry as cheap as £2 before 10pm and £3 before 11 (if you tag yourself and your friends names on their Facebook) so we were already off to a good start before we got there. Walking in, it was pretty busy and the building inside was really decent, the DJ booth, dance floor and sound system were well thought out and sounding great. The bar staff and bouncers were all really nice and it was quick to get served. The people I met that night were all metal heads and goths which was brilliant. Everyone I knew bumped into someone they knew and by the end of the night I felt like I knew everyone there. The music was like going back to my skateboarding school days, lots of System of a Down, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park so there were lots of sing alongs. Overall I’d definitely recommend the night to any punks, goths, metal fans or alternative people. It was a good laugh and not for anyone who takes themselves too seriously on the dacefloor!
