On Saturday night we trekked down to London to see 5 punk bands for £5 at The Cavendish Arms in Stockwell. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd were really friendly. We got chatting to some real characters as you’d expect when diving into the punk scene. There were loads of female musicians and singers in the bands which was really great to see and the bar staff were a really good laugh. The stage had theatre red drapes and the dance floor was two-tone checked squared. When walking from the venue to the main pub, the music was excellent, they played everything from Stiff Little Fingers and The Buzzcocks to Terrorvision. The highlight of the gig was definitely the headline act, Surgery Without Research with their new bassist. We’re certainly looking forward to seeing them develop a longer set at future gigs.
