Hall of Fame

“Dangerous? Us?! Just because we dress like Oasis doesn’t mean we are.” Jason

The straight talking, anarchic duo Sleaford Mods mix punk poetry with chav culture in an ingenious way. We were lucky enough to hang out with them backstage at their show in Ramsgate and take them for a drink afterwards. Refusing to sign to a record label and keeping in with the DIY ethic, touring off their own back, they gain a place on our Wall Of Fame!

See our interviews with the guys below:

Also check out their videos ‘Tied Up In Nottz’ and ‘Jobseeker’ below.

Mark Bandola is the Canadian lead singer of the group who rocked college rock radio and MTV in the 80’s, The Lucy Show! Someone who buys a lot of records, drinks a lot of coffee and writes a lot of music, he is now settled in England and fronts psychedelic avant-garde band The Ramsgate Hovercraft. A strong candidate for our Wall Of Fame! Check out his music below!

Yes ladies and gentlemen this is Paula and CJ Dread with breakbeat hardcore and drum and bass pioneer Marc Mac! Marc came into Kane FM for an interview on the Boom and Bass show and kindly brought each of the crew a copy of his new album. Pretty exciting when you consider his previous album ‘Parallel Universe’ won NME Album of The Year! So he gets a rightful place on the Wall Of Fame!

We decided to head down to our local, The Queen Charlotte pub in Ramsgate, and who should we find hanging out? Bez from Happy Mondays of course! This guy cares so much about making the world a better place and has done a lot to help people and the planet in recent years. For that, as well as his dance moves, Bez gets a spot on our Wall Of Fame!

Backstage at Undercover Festival, we were doing a few interviews with the Kane FM crew. Who did I find backstage? Only The Skints! Amazing Ska/Reggae/Punk band from East London. The band were a pleasure to meet and Josh gave a suburb interview:)

We linked up with the Boom and Bass crew of Kane FM and head down to Undercover Festival at Bisley for a weekend of punk rock! Backstage we bumped into Nick Cash, lead singer and main man from the legendary punk band 999, formed in 1977. He was a pleasure to meet and gave us a fantastic interview. So he rightly deserves his place here on the Way Out Radio Wall of Fame.
